About US

The Languedoc Wine Interprofessional Council (CIVL), recognized by decree on September 6, 1994, as a “private organization of public interest,” unites the major players in Languedoc’s winegrowing and trade sectors. Representing 500 trading houses, 150 cooperative wineries, and 2,000 wine estates, the CIVL covers 20 AOPs and 19 IGPs across the Languedoc region.

CIVL provides essential technical support and market advice to wine professionals. Its operations are financed by contributions from industry members, calculated based on wine, must, and grape releases, and vary by appellation category. Placed under the economic and financial control of the State, CIVL plays a vital role in advancing the Languedoc wine industry.
